Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Cheap 15" semi-slicks 195 and 205

    I have 3 x 195/55R15 Yokohama Advan A048R and 3 x 205/50R15 Advan A048R semi slicks for $25 each or $130 for the lot.

They have about 3mm of tread left except for one of the 195's which has more

They will be fine for motokhana, hill climbs and track sessions, except that the 195's should not be used on drive axles in track sessions as they are old stock and will fail under the heavy, extended load (the belts in the sidewalls break down and wires start poking out the side but they don't leak so it's not a sudden catastrophic failure).

I have run them on my Polo with the 205's on the front and the 195's on the rear on track sessions without issue.

    195/55R15

    205/55R15
