  • FOR SALE - SPRINT BOOSTER FOR V6 Engines

    Hi

Im selling a Sprint booster which came out of my R36 that I have sold and no longer have use for it.

This was purchased for $590 from RAMSPEED (provide proof of receipt) and was much better option than doing ECU remap. It allows you to switch between STOCK, ROAD & RACE modes which triggers the throttle response giving you quicker acceleration.

This fits to all B6 N/A 6 cylinder engines and easy DIY installation.

Asking $250. Postage extra $5 or buyer pick up

Feel free to ask any questions.

Excuse my confusion but how can this be better than doing an ECU remap? All it does is increase the percentage of throttle at a given position but it doesn't increase WOT or engine power, once you're flat you're flat, so there is no actual performance increase, just driver perception? Placebo effect?

If you take into account the cost associated with remap and the increase torque from acceleration with sprint booster for N/A engine its better value for money and allowed my wife to drive it in normal mode as it can be switched off.

Not sure if you ever had one, but with 1.9tonne car more bottom end torque is what the SPRINT booster will give over remap.

Im only asking $250 compared to remap which cost minimum $1300 and needs reset everytime a franchise dealer services your car.

I did indeed. Loving that for the noise, very happy.

Can't say the same for the sprint booster though, I'm entirely unconvinced having done the research on how it actually works. Best of luck with sale though! Good seller for anyone considering!

I Will take $150 if that helps anyone.

Its worth it for the money and doesnt intervene with servicing.

I have no use so i just want it gone. This will fit R36, CC V6 or R32 Golf.

Please stop saying it gives more torque when the power & torque output of the engine remain unchanged.

What it does is change the lineality of the electronic throttle and make it more sensitive in the first part of the throttle travel.

The reason your wife had difficulties is because she couldn't recalibrate her right foot.

I know plenty of people with sprint boosters & the majority are pretty happy with them. Your $150 price is really good. Probably better to list it in the 4-sale section though.

I was trying to be polite but yes this was my thinking too. However, regardless of personal opinion about how useless this product is, relative to what they often sell for, $150 is good value and I will vouch for this guy as I bought an intake off him and had no problems at all.

                EDIT: See below post.

just some 2c to add to the pot...

in regards to sprint boosters, i know that it might seem like snake oil but believe me the difference it makes to the driveability of the car is amazing.

i can 100% guarantee that those 'haters' have not driven with one before.

yes, there is no change to the engine or ECU.
yes, you think that its simply a case of 'put your foot down more'

but it honestly works. that's all i can say.

My reference: sprint booster on vw r36 and merc clk500.

Hmmm... I guess I can always sell it after. I would be interested as someone who is very skeptical of the product to try it and graph it in VCDS and post a review. I do think it's snake oil, but I'd like to see why everyone who owns one raves about it from a skeptic's perspective. PM'd.

Hrmmmm $150 is a good price these normally are around $300, from all reviews and tests it doesn't make the car any quicker but apparently makes the pedal feel much better. If i didn't have to buy a new washing machine i would probably snap this up.... still tempted though if it doesnt sell

Well I've backflipped and made an offer so we'll see. I am still expecting not to fall in love with it like so many have for the cost but at the very least I really want to do a write up on what it's doing with actual stats from VCDS and post up results, and if I do end up liking what it does I'll keep it, if not I can always resell.

I've had one for over a year now and I love it.

Its one of the best mods I've done I reckon. The throttle response is 100% better than stock, and when you want to go hard, flick onto red and away you go! The pedal is tighter, auto change-downs are much more readily available and it just drives nicer...

I'd suggest you won't be sorry!

Lets not get technical on terminology and im sure anyone that has researched the product will know what message i am trying to conveay.

My purpose of commenting on my wife being able to drive it is to explain that for the vehicle being my wife daily driver, it allowed me to turn it on when i took it out on weekend drives. Please dont comment about anyones wife, is disrespectful and the way they drive because it's irrelevant to my point.

It's SOLD. So i hope Jake enjoys it and gets the most out of it.
