Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW FS: Mk4 Rear wheel bearing/hub

    Hey guys,

I bought two for a MK4 GTI / Audi A3 from ECS tuning a couple of weeks ago but only needed to install one.

I couldn't get these locally except from VW/Audi who wanted $500(!! *&#^$&*) - I'm just asking what it cost me.

$80. In perfect condition etc. See photos below.

I'll hang onto these so if you come across this thread in 6months PM me.

not trying to wreck your sale mate, but really it is convention to replace both sides at once, to promote even performance and wear. Usually since one goes, there other isnt often far behind - it would be a good idea to put it on your car. As such, you might find it hard to move just a single.

Having said that - good luck with your sale

I've heard that, I figured I'd buy both and let the mechanic assess the other side while he had the rear apart - Which he did and said it was fine. (Suspect it was damaged during a brake disc/calliper installation)
