Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • FS: Polo 6R Westfalia Detachable Tow bar

I bought this Westfalia Detachable Tow Bar, complete with a 7 pin dedicated wiring harness for my Polo Gti. It is made in Germany and the best tow bar offered on the market for our vehicles.

The Tow bar is still brand new and unopened in the box as I never got around to fitting it. It was privately imported out of the UK.

I am selling my car and as such, I no longer need the tow bar. It comes complete with all necessary hardware and installation instructions and is completely removable and reversible unlike most of the other tow bars on the market.

Below is a link to the product. It fits all 6R Polo models.

Westfalia Towbars & Wiring Kits - Setup Listing

    Asking $750.00

Please PM me with any questions.

PS. I tried to put this thread in the classified section of the forums however I was unable to do so due to being a new member. I am happy for the moderators to move the post if that is possible.

Is it ADR approved for use in Australia as insurance liability comes into play if its not.

It should have an approval plate on it if it is.

Erm, I thought the 6R GTI couldnt have a tow-bar? Or was it just that there isnt a factory fitted one?

No it's not ADR approved. It was brought in from the UK where it has TUV approval.

Australian delivered Polo Gti's never had a tow bar option, however in Europe you could fit one.

I hope that answers your question.

You are correct, the Australian delivered Polo Gti's didn't have a tow bar as an option however you could fit one from factory in Europe. As per my advertisement, this is a top quality aftermarket tow bar with a removable tongue.

It has never been fitted as I sold my Jet ski before it was ever fitted.

          Still in original unopened box.
