I've been looking into getting a Haldex controller recently and after a number of conversations with the guys at HPA have decided that instead of just getting 1 x Haldex Controller for myself, I may as well organise a whole bunch.

So I'll put this up here looking for expressions of interest firstly.

So what exactly does an HPA Competition Haldex Controller do?

The Competition controller will transfer more torque more fast to the rear wheels.

Also it supports left foot braking (without disengaging the 4-motion clutch) and shifts torque to the rear wheels under braking which assists in deceleration. Great for track days and spirited driving.

I fitted mine ages ago with the controller. Its worth it as it tidies up the car when pushed through corners. Christmas present for your R's

UPS shipping is US$110. There may be some alternate shipping methods offered (e.g. Canada Post) which will be cheaper but slower.

I'm realistic with "expressions of interest". I know this is an expensive time of year for a lot of people and realise that not everyone that has expressed an interest will necessarily be in a position to purchase a unit in January.

If there's enough interest though we may be able to keep the offer open for long enough to get the numbers.

Also if you know any non-forum guys that would be interested please put them in touch as if that gets the required numbers it will benefit everyone.

Is this unit compatible with the R36?

Yes there are units available for R36, however these are not the HPA "Competition" units, but Gen 4 switchable Eco/Std/Race Haldex Controllers.

These Gen 4 Haldex controllers can also be purchased without a switch and will default to "Race" setting only. Race setting gives more rear bias and eliminates the understeering you nermally get with FWD cars.

The things you'll miss are the engagement of the rear clutches under braking and the ability to do left foot braking which is only available for the Golf R in the "Competition" Controller. These features are more of an advantage on the track and probably not something you'd miss while driving on the road.

please put me down i am defiantly interested its an honest price and would be nice to get get rid off the under steer on the golf R and with the newest 2+ re-flash thevtraction light is getting a real workout
i would be after the version 4 with switchable race standard, eco version can i make my own cables i.e doe these come with wiring diagrams?
