There's also a guy selling a whole front cut from an 8L 1.8T for $1500 - so that's everything needed for conversion excluding mounts and ecu defeat.

Hell I'll sell my AWT engine 1.8T for $500 now I've found out how much it's going to cost to convert to transverse.

And regarding bare engines - no turbos etc - there's wreckers selling Audi TT K04s for $500...

Edit - I'm not trying to ruin your FS thread - but after 12 pages of bumps and 9 months of trying to sell this kit maybe you should lower your price a touch!

This isn't just for an engine to go into another mk4. This will convert a mk2 golf to a 1.8t. I have no care about how much you can get an engine for. I have for sale an 02a gearbox(try find another for sale), a 1.8t engine complete with turbo and all, a ecu with no immobiliser and chipped to 200hp and a conversion wiring loom. I have done this conversion and had my car on the road for a year now, please dot tell me how much it's worth. If you look a few pages back there is 2 other guys with 1.8t swaps saying this is worth the money. Once again unless you have done this like I have please don't tell me what it's worth or ruin my thread by posting your parts for sale or anyone else's.

02a boxes are $400-500 shipped from the UK so let me do the math:

$700 engine
$500 gearbox
$300 turbo
let's be generous and throw in $1000 worth of misc stuff

so that makes the conversion loom and ecu worth $2000?

I must come across as the biggest d*ck but I'm just trying to help you out here - you cannot possibly justify that price tag in Australia where Eur, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is tired of constantly seeing this thread desperately bumped up in the new posts.

Wow people just don't get it. Go buy that stuff if you want it. Not interested don't comment and ruin my for sale thread. Nobody has bought it so I must lower my price? Or how about nobody has bought it because the market in Australia isn't that big, I'm in no rush to sell. So I will hold out for a buyer or out this in my other mk2.

It can fit a mk1 not exactly sure on everything but I can get a mk1 1.8t loom
