Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Audi Fat fives/TT Comps with tyres. EOI/neg. 8n0601025h

Over the years I've been contacted a number of times about these wheels so have decided to put them out for an EOI (except with a price...).

Price: 1550 (tyres included) + postage (can help arrange), can offer without tyres.

(Car included for a little extra)

    Specs:
    17x7.5 inch
    5x100 bolt pattern
    32mm offset (ET +32)
    Factory Audi/VW hub bore 57.1mm
Forged, I believe these are built by third party Ronal (quality wheels). Have GERMANY stamped on them
    Roughly 9.5kg each (plus tyres)
Should be fine with stock VW bolts (must be ball seat not cone)

Do your homework if you're not sure what car they'll fit, Mk3 VR6, Mk4 Golf/Bora complete range (should clear R32 brakes), Mk1 TT, early A3 all should be fine. Can test fit if you're local.

    Tyres:
Kumho KU31s only realistically done a few hundred kms, have certainly not cracked 1000kms yet, so probably around 98%.
    205/40/17

    Caps:
All included (just don't fit on the rear of the VR unmodified/ with the OE hub cover)

    Wheel 1:
This one is tidy all around

    Wheel 2:
Cap included, just doesn't fit on easily with that hub cover, I've heard you can get flat ones. Slight rough patch in the second pic, bit of rash in the third. Good fat tread.

    Wheel 3:
This is probably the worst patch (2nd pic), it's not actually particularly deep, but there nonetheless. Bit of a dimple in the third.
Again, cap included, same deal as before.

    Wheel 4:
Bit of a dimple in that second pic, not deep. Scuff in the third pic. Rough patch in the fourth.

Last pic shows the colour/finish better, the ones next to the hedge make them look a little more chrome looking than they really are.

Thanks Dyl! Ah yes, sorry Polo crew, didn't mean to forget you, they would look great on a Polo.

Well produced add ,shame the car doesn't get picked up with wheels as its very well done and worth every penny.
        I love it.
The scene should be above worrying about the $ it should be about cool cars and Vento VR6 is VERY COOL.

I love the phat 5's, nearly imported a set myself once...

GL, they need to go on a dropped Polo IMO, could look awesome on the right 9N3 or 6R.

Very much want, have to rid a couple of cars though. Even when I sell 2 of my fleet I still have a couple of fine candidates for these. GLWS mate timing "might " be bad

Little scrubbing in the front, but it's only on the plastic inner arch protector and on near full lock and arches aren't rolled, No scrubbing in the back, but I have rolled arches and coils wound conservatively. Frankly I think 215s would be getting big on a mk3, the 205s have a very mild stretch so are fine, I'd test fit a 17 with 215s before shelling out for tyres, they may be ok.

Yeah sorry you're wrong there, check part number these are genuine Mk1 TT forged and Ronal built comp wheels known as 'fat fives', have a google first in future, fat five is just a nickname anyway but these are the real deal.

Thanks for helping to clear that up Dyl, fake wheels are not welcome. I thought my ad was pretty clear and comprehensive albeit missing weights build date etc.
