Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What would a set of welded up wheels like this be worth?

Kenbot, there's a few shops that can do it:

Morton & May @ Warwick Farm
                Neales Wheels @ Narellan
All Aluminium Welding @ Chipping Norton

First two shops aren't particularly friendly but they can get the job done.
                Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
                Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

oh awesome, thanks for that! I'll look into it now..

What'd be the widest (fattest) tyres you could put on these steel wheels as they are?
(Without being dangerous or creating any terrible handling issues of course)

You could run a 225 on these easily enough.

Yeah 225/50s will be sweet, my tyre guy wouldn't fit 245/45s to mine though
