  • NSW [EOI] Plasti Dip group buy for members in Sydney

    Hi guys,

I have been considering Plasti Dip my Scirocco this December.
    What is Plasti Dip????

The problem is Plasti Dip in Australia is quite expensive comparing their price in the state. After extensive search, I found a supplier that provide discount on Plasti Dip if buy in bulk.

    Here is the discount structure:
    $2000 - $2499 5% OFF
    $2500 - $2999 10% OFF
    $3000 - $3999 15% OFF
    $3000 - $4999 20% OFF
    $5000 or over 30% OFF

For myself, I am looking at buying 3 x 3.78L pre-thinned Clear ($670) for my Scirocco body and 1 x 1L pre-thinned Black ($62) for my wheels. So I am looking at around $732 + shipping (around $15) for my whole project.

In order to get the discount, we will have to buy all the Plasti Dip in one single order. I will organize the supplier to deliver all the Plasti dip to Naremburn NSW 2065. All orders have to be picked up from Naremburn or near suburbs. I will not be able to ship Plasti Dip anywhere else as it is classified hazardous and are prohibited by Australia Post.

If you want to know more about Plasti Dip, please watch the videos on the DipYourCarcom YouTube Channel
    https://www.youtube.com/user/DipYourCarcom

If you want to search the product available in Australia, please go to Plasti Dip

I am looking at ordering in late November to beginning of December. Anyone interested in buying Plasti Dip, please express your interest here.

Plasti-Dip is just a brand and there are several other companies that offer the same product for a much cheaper price.

Check out Evolved Body Coatings - Dip Your Car

You might get what you are after locally and for a much cheaper price.

Most people will want to know what prices before discount they're agreeing to as well..
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

Thanks for that. It is good know there is other similar products out there.
I was choosing Plasti Dip as it is a well known brand and it has been experimented extensively in US.
After comparing the prices of Liquid Wrap and Plasti Dip from http://www.plastidip.net.au/, they are actually quite similar in price.
        e.g. 4L LW for $210 vs 3.78L Plasti Dip for $235
LW is definitely more affordable but I think I will stick to the brand that I know even though it is a bit more expensive

I am planning to ordering from http://www.plastidip.net.au/
If you know any other supplier with more competitive price, please let me know and I can always change the supplier.

I just assumed you wanted to do the whole car in matte black, but just noticed that you want to only dip your car in clear? is that right? Is that just for protection?

According to dipyourcar.com,clear Plasti dip apparently will give the car a matte finish.

Autobarn only have limited colors in stock.
They also get their stock from plastidip.net.au
so I am pretty sure Autobarn will be more expensive than plastidip.net.au

I will check out the local Autobarn this Wednesday and report back

Contacted Caswell this morning and they do not have stock of what I wanted.
They even give ETA or shipping cost as it is out of stock.
At this stage, I will stick to plastidip.net.au

Autobarn get their stock from Caswell, here in Melbourne. Ive gone to John there a couple of times. Cans are all $24.50. Not sure about tins.

He will do a 5% discount for a pack of 12, 10% discount for a pack of 24. Not sure about after that... Pretty good if you want to do wheels. I got a set of wheels done fairly thick in two cans, despite what people say. Just dont ever ever gutter rash it or you'll feck it.

                            Happy dips
