Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • BUSINESS Fidanza Alloy Flywheel - Golf 1.8T new in box

This is a brand new - AU purchased genuine Fidanza flywheel - according to this ebay listing it will fit an AGU MK4 Golf GTI

We had it left over in our store room (just cleaned out) - the price on the box is $745

It's part number is LAF 8011 which comes up as:

Fidanza Lightened Aluminum Flywheel FOR VW Golf 1 8L Dohc Turbo AGU | eBay

Available for $200 + postage. Comes with instructions, install pack (loctite etc - no bolts), you need to confirm fitment for your application. I can assist with measurements if required.

    New in the box

Hey guy, I'm very interested in this. Do you have an actual weight of the flywheel? The eBay listing says 60% lighter (on average?) so I assume it's around 12lbs? If so ill take it!

Yeah I think my current one is 288mm but I will putting this in with a new clutch, so if I buy a clutch for a 210mm flywheel it should be sweet?

P.S. clutch setup will be a combo of pressure plate clamping force too - we ran the 200mm stuff on our A4 Stage 3 Quattro's for years with Sachs racing clutch & pressure plates.
