Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW FS - Golf MKV Centre console arm rest cover thing (fits ipod/cd changer mounts)

Item Description: Centre console cover thing - Basically it is to replace the standard 'centre console' bit under the arm rest so you can put a VW ipod adapter or CD changer in the arm rest... You can actually fit a whole headunit in there - but the wiring is a bit tight
    Location: Sydney (Hornsby)
Website for more info: the part number is 1K0863323A - Colour is 'art grey' which is just the grey interior (i think there's only 1 grey...)
Item Condition: Perfect - No marks that I can see!
    Price and price conditions: $50?
Reason for selling: No longer needed
Extra Info: Bought it for our golf ~2-3 years ago and used it with the headunit in the centre console/arm rest... Now i've pulled it out, so no longer need it and the old one has gone back in.

Bit of a unique item - but if you already have one and it's marked or cracked, this is a cheap way to fix it The part from VW direct was pretty expensive from memory ~$220 or so.
Photos: -> This is the same bit (but not a pic of mine - pulled off a random site)
