  • BUSINESS 9N3 Polo GTI lower engine mount inserts

Lots of you will have seen these in my Cheapy thread. Just bought a Black Series for the Squib and got a few extras in as the last ones I got seemed popular.

    I have is 2 PFF85-620 Road bushes and 1 PFF85-620P Track bush.

The price is the same $57.50 plus shipping @ $10 for express overnight.

Please email me as my inbox gets full all the time. There's a link to it in my user name at the top.

    Cheers

Bumping again. Same track compound mounts available. Don't be put off by the Track title though, they aren't half as bad as the race one

Got 3 road density mounts on the shelf, Pricing in the first post.

Very easy to change, a vast improvement over the std VW insert. A desirable mod for anyone with a downpipe.

I'm in Brisbane. I'm a newbie to car mods in general.. I've always been happy to just drive them stock. But the promise of even more go out of my polo has got me very curious. What sort of benefit would fitting these give me? The suspension is just stock at the moment. I'm not after a crazy track car, just the ability to go quick when the conditions let me.

If you get your Polo tuned, then the extra power will move the motor more and as a consequence is likely to wear out the std bush faster.

The additional movement a worn mount introduces could make the gear changes rough, as you come off the throttle an get back on it again.

The reduced movement would definitely be a benefit if you fit a bigger downpipe. Obviously space gets tighter and the downpipe may contact the subframe or bodywork.

Fair enough. I got the APR tune already. I was thinking of doing the downpipe down the track (or a whole exhaust kit if it makes more sense - still researching).. but I was probably looking at the PD160 first, then maybe a FMIC etc.. still, little things like this might be a nice way to ease into it. How much would fitting be?

Matt White at Camden GTI is a good mate of mine. Campbelltown. There's tons of VW specialists about.

They are dead easy to do if you have a vice or know someone that does.

Any mechanic shop would be able to do it in 30 minutes. Start to finish.

                        Hey Gavin,
I've currently got the track one installed and am hating the low-rev vibration when dawdling around town. It's great when winding it out with the Stage 1 DNA tune though . Is the road version noticeably softer in your experience? If so, I'll buy one.

                        Cheers,
                        Ben

I personally haven't run the road one in my car. So I couldn't say if you'd prefer it or not. Do you run with the AC on most of the time? If the idle speed were 30-40 revs higher would that get rid of the buzz?

You aren't going to see factory levels of NVH with these, whichever you fit.

If you are able to fit yourself, it wouldn't be that expensive an operation to try one.

If increasing the idle fixes it, you can do that with a VCDS cable and unisettings app.

It vibrates at about 925 - 1000 rpm. Idles at about 875-900.

I'm not sure if I'm getting used to it but I think the vibration is settling down after a few hundred kms. I could boost the idling speed to 1100 rpm which would solve it.

The idle can be bumped 10 revs at a time with a VCDS lead. If you can get one I can lead you though how to do it. If you have only done a few 100 km, I'd leave it a while longer to settle. My own Polo idles at 1000 and I think it's way too fast. Although, the rev counter and VCDS do show a bit of a difference if you check them both.
