Hey all

I picked these up quite cheap from FB.

2x 17x8 et31
2x 17x9 et38

no tyres.

test fitted them to my VR6 and theyll only fit with some spacing and i cant be bothered trying to get it to work. I also wanted them split and the centers powercoated grey, but yeah, im lazy.

15mm would do it for the front (im running the bigger VR caliper) and 25mm would be good for the rear (i tried a 20mm but there was about 3mm to the coilovers). Would still fit within guards with fenders rolled by my judgement.

Theyre in ok condition for their age, one wheel has a bit of a graze (seen in the pic) and they all come with center caps (one is minus the circlip) but they look heaps better without them. Could do with a really good clean!

These have been bored out to 57.1.

These would look pretty awesome on a MK4 and would most likely fit with less hassle.

I ran 10et32.
so 9et38 gives you 19mm less poke, and 7mm more inner clearance

or this, with 11mm less poke and 11mm less inner clearance

VR6 or Polo (9N3 / 6R) with good stance / a bit of guard work. Would need spacing in the rear, probably a little lip work in the front to get them to tuck (or adjustable top-mounts).

How much do they weigh? If they are still around if / when I get to my adjustable top-mounts I might have a go.

I run 17x8 ET 30-25 up fronts on the Polo - no issues whatsoever.

I also run 17x8 ET40 at the back (daily, unspaced) and no clearance issues. IMO this is doable on a 9N3 with the right tyre choices - maybe 195 up front and 205/215 out back.

I would genuinely take them, because they're a bargain, but my mrs says no more wheels for the Polo

hi guys

ive only get in front of a pc now to reply and these wheels have provisionally been sold.

literally only minutes after posting.

to answer some questions, which may be fruitless (but maybe not if the buyer falls through - prolly not)

wheels foul on front and rear without spacing.
front hit brakes (OBD2 bigger caliper) but cleared with a 12 slip in
rears hit the coilovers but had 3mm free play on a 20mm.

to pull off, 15 spacer front, 25 rear, 205's all round (maybe 215 back), and guards rolled at the very least. with the spacing, the wheels still sat legal (in the guards, even at the rear)

will update if the sale falls through

For future reference. It's the obd1 that has the 'bigger' wider caliper. Obd2 is like ~6mm skinnier
