Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC FS: Mk6 Golf / 6R Polo GTI DSG Steeringwheel

    hi all,

I had asked a little while ago about removing the DSG paddles from the GTI steering wheel that I had bought for my TSI but it turns out there really isn't really a way to do it so I have since just bought one from a manual car and thus will now sell my GTI DSG one. This will fit all MK6 Golfs and 6r Polos from what ETKA tells me and It DOES INCLUDE the steering wheel control unit (you probably wont need it but I don't have any need for it as I am using my existing one). Price is just for the steeringwheel and control unit, NOT the airbag but if you have a multifunction wheel already then you can use your existing one.

Pic is below, but it is in excellent condition, no little nicks or scrapes in the leather (unlike the one that I just bought ).

While I paid a lot more than $300 for it, I'm only looking at the end-game so more than happy to take a loss on it as ultimately I have what I want now so that's fine.

Pick up is not really an option with my work and I live in the outter south east suburb of Pakenham, Vic so it will have to be posted for $20 (Express post anywhere in Aus) is the best option.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

What is the part number on the controller? Would you be interested in selling it separately?

Looking to do MFSW upgrade on an octavia, so I would not really be needing the wheel itself.

Hi there... I will check it when I get home. Only if whomever may buy it doesnt need it you could have it, but that all depends on them .

.. Just confirming that as above, the airbag is NOT included, but if you have a multi function wheel already, re-use your existing one.

Anyone have any idea if its possible to install and code this on a 77tsi? What features would / would not work?

And yep, car is a DSG. One thing i really miss in it (when compared to my GTI) is the paddle shifters.

yep everything works. i've got a DSG wheel with paddles (out of a GTD) on my 90tsi. is your car a DSG? it is really easy to code in. if you already have a MFSW, the only thing you actually need to code in is the paddles themselves. all the other buttons will work straight away. anyone with a MK5/MK6 should consider this mod, it's definitely one of the best things i've done to my car

Thats what im not sure about.. what qualifies as a MFSW? My Polo has the volume control, phone etc. but does not have the buttons on the right.

                Sold pending payment

That's the wheel that I had, so you would have been perfect fine. Any buttons on the wheel make it mfsw. The only ones that are not are the trend line ones from what I understand
