Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NZ 24v ECU - remap & de-immo done

100% perfect working condition. Has a Viper Tuning map and de-immo done by Stealth.

    Part number:
    022 906 032 AD
Originally out of a BDE 2.8L 24v 4 motion car before the remap & immo delete.

Currently set up to go straight into a 24v corrado/mk2 still using mk2 clocks & key.

Was never dyno tested unfortunately but put out great power and I was very, very happy with it.

I only drove about 500km before breaking the engine so has had barely any use. All up this ECU owes me over $1000 NZ. I'd like to recover as much of this as possible obviously so how about $350 ono. If you're currently looking to remap your factory ECU and/or get the immo delete done you'll be looking at easy $600 or more just for the remap!

The ECU is in New Zealand, however I will track and trace post it anywhere in the world for free. I can email a pic of the ECU, my flickr isn't working.

Here is the only video I have of the car while running the 2.8 24v with this ECU:

For all the mk4 guys: this is straight plug and play for any V6 Mk4 (4 motion etc) but not R32.

The only thing you have to do is plug in VCDS to register the ECU with the clocks. One of the guys on here should be able to do that or any VW mechanic will be able to do it cheap/free!

What broke on the engine? Didn't run lean or anything did it?

Viper have squat info on their site - What kind of changes did you get? I know you said it wasn't dyno'ed but you must have claimed figures?

      What is de-immo?

The motor died because the car was too low and the sump hit the ground when driving. The oil pick up smashed and starved the motor of oil. Pics here:

I never dyno'd it so I can't claim figures. I was impressed with the difference, torque was considerably better and power was more consistent throughout the rev range. Sorry I don't want to make up any figures.

De-immo = disabling the immobiliser. If you run it in a mk4 it'll work fine, you just won't have an immobiliser. If you run it in a 24v converted mk1/2/3 you'll need the de-immo anyway.

I'm keen but I wont buy it on your word that you were impressed. I'd like to see at least something in terms of figures, mainly from the tuner.

Viper tuning is one of the most respected in the RS Audi world, he wrote a custom one off tune for my R32T when no one else could be bothered to help..........am I impressed, yes you could say that.
Buy with confidence.........I did the engine install and organised the remap for Veedub.

As Vert1 says Viper is very highly respected and has proven excellent results time and time again. I have emailed Rich @ Viper and asked him what I can advertise the gains as.

Have a couple of people interested in the UK who know about Viper Tuning so no dramas if you're hung up on hearing numbers before buying it. If it's not sold before I hear back from Rich, i'll update with the numbers
