  • NSW EOI: ECS Exact Fix Brake Lines for Mk5/6 Golf GTI and Mk5 R32/Mk6 Golf R

    Hi all,

As some of you probably already know, goodfella and I have run a few GBs on here before for stuff from ECS. Dyldo has joined our "merry crowd" of Bora V6 4Motion drivers now, and the three of us are going to start looking at some GBs again (and no, we won't be using PayPal ever again).

Right now, as a result of the contact we've had with them before, we've been offered some good pricing on the ECS Exact Fit Brake Lines for the Mk6 Golf GTI and Mk6 Golf R, as follows:

    Mk5/6 Golf GTI:
    Home Page > ES#5974 Exact-Fit Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Kit - 1KM698000

We can source 5 sets of these for AUD$175 landed in Sydney (vs USD$199.03, on top of which you'd pay bank and conversion fees, etc). This represents a saving of about 12% over RRP direct from ECS.

    Mk5 R32 / Mk 6 Golf R:
    Home Page > ES#248974 Exact-Fit Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Kit - MK5R32SSBLK

We can source 5 sets of these for AUD$125 landed in Sydney (vs USD$152.27, on top of which you'd pay bank and conversion fees, etc). This represents a saving of about 17% over RRP direct from ECS.

If we can get enough buyers to fill the order, we'll go ahead with it.

    Let us know your thoughts!

I'm interested in a set for my MkV Jetta 2.0T.

    Will they fit?

    Thanks!

While I dont intend to argue in here, I wasn't sold on the ECS lines and actually bought a set of HEL lines for my 4mo at about $130 delivered.

      Just food for thought.

I will find out, and if so, what the price will be.

I bought HEL lines for my Bora originally, but the ECS ExactFit lines have changed since then (and so have the ADRs - the ECS lines are DOT approved, and DOT approval is enough now, whereas before you needed specific ADR approval, which ECS were unable to obtain because you couldn't get the required labels in the US).

Also don't want to start an argument/flame-a-thon but just be aware I don't think these are ADR approved?

              Already answered this one.

Specific ADR approval is no longer required, because approval to standards such as DOT and TUV are now considered to be acceptable. These lines from ECS are DOT approved, and thus legal for use in Australia.

Curious about why you would be ditching your HEL lines for these? Maybe there is something I am missing (very possible!)

                BTW, Hel conformance is here

I am not. The HEL lines stay on my Bora, I am more than happy with them. This offer is based on the pricing from ECS that was offered to us.

                    Aha!

                    It was this that confused me;

That's good news, I got hammered on my ACT road check a few years back for non ADR compliant braided lines..............barstoods!

Hi Dubbers, just wanted to add the fitments/applications as advertised by ECS:

                        Fitments:
                        Mk5/6 Golf GTI:
                        Make - Model - Submodel - Engine
                        Audi - A3 - All - All
                        Volkswagen - Golf V - All - All
Volkswagen - Golf VI - All - All
                        Volkswagen - Jetta V - All - All

                        Mk5 R32 / Mk 6 Golf R:
                        Make - Model - Submodel - Engine
                        Volkswagen - Golf R - All - All
                        Volkswagen - R32 MKV - All - All

FYI - the Rear lines have a common fitment across the ranges, so no problems on Upgraded Front brakes:
                        Make - Model - Submodel - Engine
                        Volkswagen - Golf R - All - All
                        Volkswagen - R32 MKV - All - All
                        Volkswagen - Golf V - All - All
Volkswagen - Golf VI - All - All
                        Volkswagen - Jetta V - All - All
                        Audi - A3 - All - All

Lets keep the posts clean, relevant and on topic, GBs are a challenge to host, so we appreciate some understanding. We have also extended this GB to our VWGOLF.net cousins so I am sure we can make up the required numbers in double time!

                        Thanks for looking!
