  • NSW Selling 2.8L VR6 engine with port work

    Hey guys,

As my VR6 is now up for sale im going to sell my worked engine aswell as i have bigger plans now, House and work vehicle

    Does not include shrick

The head has just been rebuilt (fully rebuilt) and only has 5000kms on it.
The head was Dubsteve's and he had it ported and polished and some 262 cams fitted to the head
Got a new head gasket done when the head was fitted and new gaskets throughout the engine, sump, intake, exhaust.. and so on
Also got a set of Raceland headers fitted up along with a heat shield.
The block is stock with 220,000kms on it but has never had a problem and still pulls strong
The cams pull hard from 3-6k rpm
Always ran the car on penrite 15w50 Which is what volkwerk in melbourne run in their VR6's
Only thing that this engine doesnt have is a starter motor because mine died in my VR and i swapped it out off this one.
Chains were done aswell but all the work is on the receipts

I have receipts showing up to 4k worth of work from camden GTI
Aswell as the headers costing me $300 off forum member (mk3pete)

    Will sell with all ancillaries
Gearbox is available too but 1st gear is noisey so whoever buys this will probably prefer to just use their gearbox.
This gearbox did come off a 2.9L vr6 which was in Dubsteves VR6 (which is sold)
Gearbox only has 95,000kms on it.

Selling this all as a whole because its alot easier that way, but if it comes to it i may split it up if i get enough interest.

Ill chuck some pictures up of it later tonight or tomorrow but im sure everyone knows what they look like

Looking for 4.5k for the lot which is pretty cheap considering the head alone to rebuild and port/polish with the cams was over 3k.

Definitely welcome to any offers dont be shy ^ is just a ballpark figure

PM's welcome or TXT me on 0411653788

    Cheers Zale.

Bump, someone building a vr6 this is the perfect opportunity to get an engine with the hard work done! all it needs is to be put in the car and thats not hard.

3.5k willing to accept reasonable offers

Any questions at all just ask me.

Heres a shot of the engine when it got pulled out of the car a few weeks back.

Engine will now be sold with the Shrick for $4500 and from my knowledge there is only 3 shricks in aus.. so keep it in mind

Or the shrick will be sold seperatly for $1600

                Bump

Also got a heap of spare parts that need to go aswell, spare 12v head with 135,000kms on it had a broken cam cover and that was the only thing wrong with it but replaced that with another one and its all good now. $250 good base for a project head! can post anywhere in aus.

Also got 2 rear doors and the passenger door in the grey VR colour. good condition body wise and paint, missing the regulators. $50 each

Will continue to add more stuff to the list when i go out to the farm and see whats still there.

are you aware, that your price is super expensive for a 2nd hand one which has been resprayed?

you can get a brand new one for just a tad m ore than what your asking for.
VR6 SCHRICK Inlet Manifold - VW TUNING, BAR-TEK Motorsport, Glader, VW Polo, Golf, Corrado, Motortuning, G60, G40,

at this stage i would happy to offer you a price for the shrick alone however I'm scared you may be upset with it.

errr, not really. With the current exchage rate a new one is circa $1800, add on top of that shipping and import tax's and you'll be saving yourself about $1g to buy this one....

I realise its expensive yes, but its still going to be at least $600-800ish cheaper than buying a new one and getting it shipped and the import tax like Golfman said..

I can provide the shrick sandblasted for that same price.. then itll be ready to get painted or finished however you'd like!

And im not fussed if it doesnt sell so im not bothered by your comment.

                          Thanks for the bump anyway
