I know this is a stupid question but new to vw... MDI is the aux port isn't it? I'm guessing stands for media device input or something??
Again apologize for the stupid question.

The MDI Kit sits in your glove box.... it connects to the back of your stereo unit....
What you see in the glove box once installed is a port where an MDI cable goes that connects to your mobile/ipod etc which can be bought on eBay or from VW for ~$20... or so
so basicly its an adapter to connect your phone/ipad which then can then play music.
Didnt think they would cost so much, learn things every day huh!
Sorry for the small hi-jack. Goodluck with the sale.

I have the MDI cable currently in my centre console box. When I plug in my iPhone or iPod, it does funny things when I try to navigate the folders to find songs. As in scrolling thru different folders seems so hard. Do u have any problems w urs in that sense? Will this MDI kit be similar too?
Apologies for my qn here as I may be keen if this works differently from mine.
1. Connect iPod (or similar Apple device) to this item (in glovebox). Can also use USB powered device (MP3 player of course)
2. Immediately commences charging item
3. Close glovebox and use touch screen commands to operate the item. Sort via folder/artists/songs etc, pause, play, ffwd, rew etc etc
