These VW 17" Siata wheels are from a 2009 Polo GTI that has now been sold with the original Polo GTI 16" wheels.
The Siata wheels were one of three 17" VW Dealer upgrade options offered to new Polo GTI customers who found the original 16" wheels a little plain looking.
These Siata wheels were originally fitted with the VW recommended 205/40R/17 tyre size which destroyed the good ride experienced with the standard 16" wheels - and frankly, spoilt the car. The wheels were subsequently fitted with Kumho KU-31 'Ecsta' tyres in the 205/45R/17 size - which gave the perfect combination of ride quality and handling. The only negative in going from the 40 to 45 aspect was to cancel out the normally experienced VW 5% speedo error. With the 45 aspect tyres: 100 Kph on the speedo means a true 100 Kph.
This set of 4 Siata wheels is absolutely immaculate with no gutter grazing, stone chips or tyre lever marks - with the Kumho 205/45R/17 tyres fitted having done around 2,800 Kms. The Kumho 'Ecsta' name moulded into the tread pattern can still be read on the attached close-up photograph of the tyres.
The Siata wheel and tyre package as presented, would look perfect on on a 9n Polo GTI that would benefit from a freshen up - or equally so on any Mk4 Golf. They were advertised in October of last year for $800. Now going cheap for $600 - and no offers at this price. Looking for a Sydney area buyer who can pick-up from my Turramurra home.
