  • NSW Complete 16V 1.8 litre engine with Digifant 2 injection system

So after a lot of consideration I have decided to sell my 16v from our Green MK1. I had planned to install this in weiß but, like all good plans, some are easier to hatch than others.

    Regrettably, here it is;

    1.8 litre block
    KR Head
I was advised it has KR exhaust cams on inlet and exhaust
Adjustable cam gear (less than 2000 km)

Digifant 2 ECU with Techtonics Tuning 16v EPROM (less than 2000 km)
K+N Pod filter and adaptor (less than 2000 km)
    Mass Airflow Sensor
    Intake pipework
16v intake manifold with working switches (WOT, Idle)
    Breather and vacuum hoses
Custom injector rail with 3.0 BAR FPR (less than 2000 km)
    ISV
Block mounted Oil cooler (recently replaced new)
    BBM motorsport Digifant CTS adaptor
    All sensors

It pulls very well and performed very rapidly. There are a large number of people familiar with my car that will attest to this. The engine was running very well when removed from the car .

It will drop straight in to a MK2 with about 3 hours effort as you already have the fuel lines, pumps etc in place.

If you are wanting to put it in a MK1, then I have a full wiring loom and would be happy to discuss this with potential buyers.

I also have a set of Raceland Tuning Stainless headers that I would be willing to part with at additional cost if you desired.

    I am after $2,000 firm.

I know how hard these engines are to source and this is one with all of the ancillaries, just swap your mounts and gearbox over (possibly need to change accelerator cable) and bingo. I don't need the space, so am happy to sit tight and if it does not sell maybe buy a cheap shell to track it.

I don't have any current pics, but the truth comes from listening to it.

Yes, in some ways for me it is.

But for the new buyer it will be a very happy day!

Hmmmmmm very tempting indeed as my 77 gls needs a new bottom end so maybe a good time to upgrade. Was going down the 1.8t route but to expencive.Would a complete novice (me) and a grease monkey friend be able to perform this without to many head aches?

I have a turbo and manifold which will bolt straight onto this sweet engine there fore making your 1.8t $250 complete and it's yours with this awesome motor.

My opinion is a 16v is much more appropriate to a mk1 than a 1.8t.

You would need a diesel fuel tank and a digifant fuel pump too, but the turbo manifold would be sweet.

                    Shipping might be an issue?

I invested new clutch in my 8V kjet Mk2 last year, obviously don't want to throw money away, would 8v gearbox and clutch match this engine ?

I believe that it will fit, as there are differences between the 16v and 8v clutch but I have never looked into it so some smartypants can chime in here to let you know.

Going into your MK2 would be a pretty easy job.

if the Box you ran was a 020 Mik, then im pretty sure you would have a 210mm 24spline clutch.

                          someone else chime in??
Btw, does this engine come with a clutch setup?

Ok so my box is a 5 speed linkage shift whatever model number that is.

                            So the engine as outlined above and then;

Raceland headers for 16V conversion into MK1
                            All MK2 wiring looms
                            Fuel pump

                            Add $500

At this point you would have everything (apart from a few issues with your pipework on the radiator etc to iron out) to put it into a MK1.

So for all of the above it will be $2,500.

                            Cheers.
