  • NSW EOI/FS: Golf Mk5 OEM Xenons & 10-12 Pin Adapters - Pristine

    Hi Peeps,

So I bought these with the intention of fitting them to my GTI, these are basically brand new.
Sourced them through a friend of mine (Parts Wrecker). They have come off an Australian delivered VW.

Have changed my mind in fitting them mainly because at the moment my mind set is just that I would like to spend a little more $$$ on suspension, engine ect.
Also possibly looking at purchasing another car which may come with these anyway...

So my loss is your gain.... Details of what is included and Pics below:

    1 x Part # 1k6 941 031 a LEFT
    1 x Part # 1k6 941 032 a RIGHT
    1 x Pair of 10-12 Pin Adapters,
noticed that one of the adapters' latch is broken, doesnt affect the operation or fitting, they are a very tight fit anyway. It seems they were sent to me like this.

At this stage, I am looking for an EOI with a view to sell.
You all know what these go for to import or purchase from TMTuning or any other OS sellers... So i wont rant on about it.

    Looking for offers over $1200.

Happy for anyone to swing by and inspect them, am located in Panania, around 5 mins from Revesby.
I am also very happy to ship interstate at buyers expense.

    Cheers

    Pat

    TTT!!

Offers aren't too far from what I want.. I am a reasonable person but we all know what these are worth.

Guy's grab these before they go. These are very hard to come by and cost much more from VW spare parts. +1 for a great seller. If i had my TDI still these would be mine in an instant. Good luck, i'm sure everyone wants Xenon Powaaah .

Do these need auto adjusting motors?

Legally yes, auto levelling motors should also be fitted as well as the headlight washers....

However you can check other threads and will find most members on this forum and other forums do without them with no issues. You just need to make sure they are aimed correctly from the outset.

The auto levelling retrofit kit is roughly $400 euro + shipping alone from Kufatec, the washers are another $90 euro, then fitting is a total nightmare...

Hmm this is a bummer, I am on my P plates and kind of don't want to risk trouble with insurance companies for having illegal parts.
Nice deal though, would love to have those!

Hey my GT has the motor to adjust the headlights, is this different from auto adjusting?

Those motors you are reffering to, only adjust the pitch and they dont do it automatically, you adjust it via the knob inside the cabin.
Auto levelling is a total difference kettle of fish.

Basically auto levelling works with 2 motors, one is mounted on the left hand front wheel control arm and the other is mounted on the right back wheel axle, these are activated when you turn the car on, the motors basically level the headlights to ensure they are aimed correctly by the way the car is loaded, front noise down, up, ect. Then they level to ensure the beam is pointed in an appropriate manner as to not blind oncoming traffic.

That is pretty much a simple explanation but if you search the threads and other forums, there are more detailed explanations, not necessarily anything to do with VW's, auto levelling is a feature built into most if not all Bi-xenon fitted vehicles...

Thanks for the info, i had a read around on the parts and it seems like a huge hassle to get these installed "legally", I think ill have to save up and just get it factory installed on my next car ^_^
