I've read everything I can find online about the Wavetrac and it does sound good but I guess it all depends on how abrupt the wave loading humps are set up. I worry that it adds something else to stress the worms and teeth in the differential more than the wave plates wearing (logic would have it revert to standard torque sensing mode if this happened).

Thanks Chris - any idea WHEN you will be able to tell us something (for those who are interested in participating in the LSD group buy)

Put me down for one LSD = MKV Gti Pirelli Edition DSG Box, don't know the code...

Maybe we can organize a group LSD install at our local/trustworthy golf dealer...

I wanted to buy an LSD from USA which at the time cost $1500 plus $400 for shipping....

So a group buy, at present, with the strong OZ dollar is worth every penny...

I haven't heard a bad word about the Wavetrac. The only bad thing i've heard about the Peloquin was the breaking diff bolts. But that was 6+ years ago and it's all sorted now.

Can't say any more and probably nothing 'till September. So if there's a number of people seriously interested, we can go with the Peloquin/Wavetrac GB. Obviously the more people that are on board, the better.

Yes I am most likely going to set shipping per diff at around $100.00. I am currently working out set pricing which I will make public for the GB.

But would YOU personally wait if the group buy didn't eventuate?

Ask him why the heck he want to use a cam and pawl locker? They wear out, lock under power if both wheels have any grip and don't drive if there is zero grip for either wheel. It might be OK on the track (apart from the wear factor) but it'd be pretty horrible on road (loads of inside wheel scrub under power).

Most likely. But i don't need one until the 16v is ready to rock.

But we know he uses it a lot on the road too hence his preference for 16" rims to get a more compliant ride on roads (plus the stealth thing).
                      Here
is a pretty good guide to the differences between more common LSD (the Weismann locker isn't there nor the Wavetrac but that's a modification of the basic ATBD). It also explains why stiffer than stock (or additional) anti-roll bars are a backwards performance step on the driving wheels unless a limited slip or locker diff is used.

There is a bit. Not huge. Lots of people saying the are interested.. Not many saying they'll lock it in.

I'll get some pricing the week and we'll see how we go..
