Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TAS FS: 2x Mk1 2Door shells and parts

I have decided to sell off my Mk1 2door shells/projects.

One is a white 76 LS (swallow tail), has no tags, floors have been butchered as they were crusty, and it is only really a rolling stripped out shell. The Swallow tail section in the back on either side of the number plate area has been cut for a graft also, however I have these sections from another donor to weld back in.
The condition of the shell (what's left) is pretty good. No rear quarter damage, no major rust in boot/spare wheel area and nothing bad with the chassis in the engine bay area. The brakes have been removed, there's no doors, no guards or bonnet, no interior, it is a rolling shell in every right...

The second is a red 78 GLS. I have the tags for this one! Reasonable damage to the front at some point that looks to be fixed by a farmer with a stick welder.. (No offence to farmers). I would not recommend anyone try to get this one registered without first removing the front and grafting another. Which, as it happens I have a spare to be included, I also have the aforemention donor car listed above, or use this second car for parts for the above...
This car comes with Doors, Guards, hatch, all glass, seats, some interior parts (rear quarter inner cards, cracked dash, steering wheel, instruments, etc) All Glass and seals in reasonable condition and brakes, steering, suspension, etc (all condition unknown). Plastic Bumpers supplied, or I have some aged chrome bumpers (no ends). And engine & gearbox can be supplied also, however We would need to pick through what I have and choose one to go with them. The floor in this one is OK and would suit for cutting and fitting to the first one better than trying to fix the front on this... Or buy a new floor for the first one, graft the spare front supplied onto this one, find two more doors and a bonnet and have two 2door Mk1's....

Both need headlights, but you buy them new cheap enough, and tailights should be available with the deal, I will need to check.

You choose which way... Both available for viewing in the Launceston area. Photos up tomorrow. Selling as a pair with the spare front clip and rear swallowtail clip.

    $900 the lot... O.N.O...
Suggest you come and look first so you know what you are getting...
