Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I reckon you'd sell a few of their chrome 8v rocker covers.

                Whats so awesome about them?

I have seen engine mounts offered in a lot of places and lots of discussion on them but I dont understand why people want to make changes to their mounts. ?

                Thanks.

Stiffer, more durable.. Softer OEM engine mounts fail when you put them under higher load, they suck up horsepower and when the engine rocks around it can unsettle the car (on a track when you're on the limit..). They also improve your shift positions on early rod linkage cars.

They do feel awsome, if you like a bit more vibration through the cabin. Also nice having the engine/trans connected to the subframe.

I'd like to see them make some mounts for the front subframe to chassis as well.

                        I should clarify that.
BFI do not stock everything on their website. There are many items that are unavailable. Generally I prefer to stick to actual BFI branded product.

Well my engine was moving back and forward about 5cm's (My OEM mounst were shagged) These BFI ones are easy to fit, cheap and makes things a bit more sporty.
