Hi guys,
Up for sale (resale) is Kaan's Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kit 14" 355mm 2pc slotted rotors. These are the top of the line Brembo ones that generally run around the $5k mark. Even importing them from the states is going to cost you $3,600 plus $500 shipping (Brembo Front 14 Inch 4 Piston Brake Kit 2pc Volkswagen GTI MkV 06+). On top of this you run the risk of getting hit with 10% GST on the brakes and shipping.
From all accounts from a couple of the other forum members here, and having experienced a car with these brakes (European autotech's MKVI) they offer fantastic stopping power and offer the advantage modded cars really need..
I purchased it last December as it was an absolute bargain. However, unfortunately after trying a couple of fittings realised it just isnt going to clear my rims without further modification. Due to some rather poor luck with my car getting stolen twice in 2008, and the fact my car already is considered 'modified' doing any further mods is going to invalidate my insurance policy - something i am not willing to do. So, im going to go with OEM VW r32 brakes as apparently OEM equipment upgrades are considered ok by GIO.
As such, it was never used by me, and is still in the same condition as when i bought it.
