Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    .
Why not? Are your calipers too small? I wonder if they would fit my GT TDi? From my understand the GT TDI had exactly the same brakes as the GTi so it should be a straight swap. Definatelly send photos and let me know what brand of rotors they are.

          What brand/size rotors?

Willing to sell without the calipers? I'd only need the rotors/pads.

rotors are stock size just drilled and slotted. Rotor's are MTEC from the UK

Sure I can separate, But i'd rather give you the calipers as I have no need for them. Plus the pads and calipers need to be matched for wear patterns etc.

The pics dont do those discs justice. I trip over them every day at work and marvel at how nice they look.

Seriously.. they have virtually no wear and no sign of forming a lip. Almost impossible to get these in Australia without spending hundreds of dollars in shipping. At that price youre getting a free set of brake pads and calipers!

Would they fit a 9N3 Polo TDi with Gti wheels?

the problem with them fitting Joshs TDI was that his car has the caliper carrier integrated into the knuckle/wheel bearing housing whatchamacallit . So to fit them he would have to change the whole shebang

Not sure if its only like that on the early Polo TDI or on all of them.. You might want to pull a wheel off and have a look.
