the general consensus is that without a chip a FMIC would pretty much take you backwards on an otherwise stock GTI correct? because i cbf chipping it yet... but when i do.. i want a FM. hmmm... opinions?Comment

Why would it take you backwards? The big advantage of FMIC is it keeps the turbo cooler, because they heat up alot, esp in these cars. You prob wont notice any big power improvements, with any intercooler kit for that matter because theyre not designed for that reason. Theyre not an essential item, but they wont take your car backwards
