  • WA EOI: 2009 Jetta Mk5 springs/shocks/rear sway bar

    Hi all,

Just an enquiry of interest. I'm considering upgrading my rear sway bar, shocks and springs and if so, would have the ones on my car for sale. Just wondering if anyone would be keen to purchase them if they go up for sale. Not sure how much they cost or have a price in mind yet, do you?

These are from the sports package, and all my attempts to contact the dealership and VWA to find out more info has resulted in:
    Sports version Springs: 15mm lowering
Sports version Shocks: Unconfirmed whether they have been uprated but they have a different part code from stock
Sports version Rear sway bar: 19mm

    ta.
edit. as of this post, they have done approx 10,500km city and highway driving. no track or racing use.

    Hi spiff,
I'm no expert on this, but I'd imagine the suitability of your factory suspension to different models would depend on the spring ratings (e.g which engine/transmission combos this would suit).

If anyone was interested, they would just need to research whether this kit was an option available to their car, with this spring rate.

If you get interest in it, you might b better to sell it as a set and the buyer would have to figure out if all or part of the set would work. They might be able to use everyting except for the front springs, if, for example, they have a diesel or a 2.0 TFSI & DSG transmission with a heavier front axle rating from the heavier components.

Please direct me to your build pics thread, too.

thanks for this tidbit of information. i'll be contacting VWA about the shocks, so i might ask them about the springs too.
the last time i rang, the guy had shut down his computer and wasn't too keen on rebooting to to look at information for me.

umm.. so far no build thread. gonna have to put one together soon, i guess.
