Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    TAS FREE: MK1 2dr rolling shell (do not get excited)

    This was the "donor" vehicle for my project.

    The good
    - it was a MK1 2 dr
    - Still rolls/steers
    - has loom & fuse box
    - steel wheels in OK condition
    - the rust has been killed or cut out

    The bad
    - it was a donor vehicle
    - no pics
    - chopped king springs/std shocks

    The ugly
    - Extensive rust damage
    - No panels/passenger floor

    I need to collect it this weekend - will deliver to Launceston area.
    Scrap metal were going to give me $50 for it, but it makes me sad to think it's going to the tip...

    This would be another project - but unfortunately i do not have the space or the funds restore this one...
    I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

      Nope - it's at the panelbeaters and i can't get to it until the weekend and that's when it's going to the tip.
      There are some pics on my MK1 thread: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f13/...t-43770-5.html It's the white one.
      You can see the rust in the pillars, bog in the front apron and some of trhe rust where the antenna hole is on the front passenger side.
      I've taken the rear apron and bonnet off.
      Like i said - it's free and it's going to the tip if I can't get rid of it...
      I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...
