  • NSW twin Dellorto carburettors - DHLA 40, rebuilt with 8v manifold

    hey guys,

as the title suggests, i have a set of DHLA 40 Dellorto carbies with a manifold with linkages.

they've been rebuilt and jetted for a 2.0. (dont come with shiny trumpets i'm afraid)

    price:

Carburettors alone - $900 (with linkages)

    Manifold alone - $200

    Carburettors + manifold (with linkages) = $1000

i can get shipping pretty cheap, pm for questions.

well pretty awesome on both those fronts actually.

it took a fair bit of effort to find that manifold. many are long gone and crushed with the rusty mk1 they were attached too.

Might be a dumb question but what sort of gains do these things give over, lets say, a down draft 32/36 webber?

i'd say a lot. perhaps talk to pete jones who runs them regularly on his race car.

heaps heaps more responsive. much better airflow.

they obviously work best when you've done a bit of engine work.

Very different carb to the 32/36.

You'll need a cam and head work to get the most out of them but they'll make more horsepower than any other carb you could bolt to your motor.

Instant throttle response. Awesome noises. Big fuel bill but worth every cent.

Turn up your speakers and enjoy the ride.

All the build info is in my wreck to race thread. (See link in signature)

Jays price on the carbs is great. I paid $900 for mine and then had to spend another vast amount getting them rebuilt and jetted.

Trust me, you won't care about the fuel bill
