  • NSW EOI 02M 5 speed mannual gearbox with peloquin lsd.

hi all looking to dump the 5 speed for the seat 6 speed from a cupra, personaly i dont think it would last long on my golf when the motor is finished . So im thinking about selling the box. Its of a mkiv gti agu engine code 100000km on it mostly used on highway driving had redline oil in it which i drained, gear change well. the lsd was installed at 95000 km. This lsd gearbox will totaly change your vr6/gti handling and takeoffs will be much faster and with less wheel spin. lsd is a peloquin from the states. Looking at about 2k for the gearbox alone (the lsds go for 1000+ and then instalation )the fidanza clutch and flywheel cost me 1600 on top so im hanging on to those.

Don't forget the ARP diff bolts...

I've driven the car with this trans in it, and it grips like a mofo amazingly easy to make rapid launches. I was going to put this in my VR6 before I considered selling it so get in on it!!!

What's the swap like, putting it into a VR6?

dont think it would be that difficult, pretty sure the box will bolt straight on, maybe some bending of the slave cylinder line, same linkages and shift box should be rite. Maybe get a decent clutch i wouldnt bother changing the vr6 flywheel, there heavy ...but strong.

Wont fit a VR6 without changing the bellhousing. 4 and 6 cylinger G4 engines sit at different anngles.

Do you have a box lined up?? I have a 6 speed TDI box from a New Caddy that is ideal for a turbo petrol car.
I also just imported one from a UK TDI Mk4.
Let me know if I can help.

Forgive me for the noob question but does that mean changing the bellhousing from the VR6 box to the GTI one? Are the mounting points the same?

The Gearbox has two halves to the case. The 6 and 4 cylinder boxes have the same basic internals, obvioulsy with different ratios, but to run a GTI box in a VR6 you would have to split it open and put it in the other case. That is pretty skilled work and not for young players.
