Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA Recaro Sportster CS seats x2

Hi, my name is Stuart and I have an addiction.

Its modifying cars. I always say I'm gonna leave it alone and then I can't stop once I start.

To this end, i'm gonna be playing with my Polo GTI some more, and going more silly, just because I can. I guess houses are free eventually, right?

The Recaros are 18? months old, and in "as-new" condition.

Poor quality pics I know, but..

REALLY comfy, as per all Recaro seats. They have a vinyl border with suede inserts.

New, they sell for nearly $3k each. I want $3k the pair complete with base frames and runners.

I can freight them interstate at buyers expense, but it won't be cheap.

Sorry - I should add... The base frames will fit a 9N Polo only.

Vinyl or leather? I'd be disappointed to find Recarro are putting vinyl seats out there these days...
        Nothing to see here...

they look like half suede half leather. i think you can specify whatever trim/colour you want them in.

Vinyl; Good vinyl lasts years longer than leather these days. What used to be used in the tanning process has changed over the years and leather unfortunately isn't what it used to be.

Leather is only dead cow skin. Its gonna dry up and shrink no matter what you do to it. Vinyl is more easily worked, it comes in more colours, more resilient, and will outlast any leather these days.

I work at a Motor Trimmer incase you're wondering....
