Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 272 degree 8v Solid lifter camshaft for sale

    Hi,
Bought this camshaft in error. I have a hydraulic head on my mk2 Golf GTI, so i have since bought the correct camshaft for it. However i have since learned hydraulic 8v heads can be easily converted to solid lifter (buy a set of shims, and solid lifters in place of the hydraulic ones and bingo!). This camshaft gives big lift and will give hard acceleration plus gains of around 10 to 12HP.
I paid $320 to get the cam to Perth. I'm open to offers to anyone that want's it!

Sorry, it's not a schrick one. It's made from cold chilled billet (not a re-grind) by WebCamshafts inc. An american firm...
