These provided good clearance over the RS3 set up.

And by good I mean I could still stuff my fingers in the gap.

Will they fit Mk 7 GTI ? without any HC rings etc ?

OZs come in a 66m CB only for VAG so I've always run HCs on my Golfs and now RS3 with no issues.

Fitment on a Mk7 GTI I think would be marginal on a stretched tyre/stock suspension, you'd want to have some camber in there to tuck.

I understand some people choose to run without them, it's a simple metal ring sitting in the centre hub which can be removed if not desired for any reason. I've just always run them to get to the 57mm fit.

I have no idea why you would choose not to run them. There's no easy way to centre the wheel on the axle without them. Without them you'll then get a whole lot of vibration and potential traction issues.

There's plenty of hub rings on ebay. You can get plastic ones or aluminium. Both will work/do the job. The OZ's should have come with hub rings if you bought them new otherwise both OZ and HRE will have a 66mm CB for their 5x112 bolt pattern and put hub rings in if you're fitting them to a VW as opposed to Merc/Audi which is 66.6mm.

I didn't realise they were so cheap - a set of 4 for $3: 4 Hub Centric Rings 66.6mm to 57.1mm | Hubcentric Ring 66.6-57.1 fit for AUDI DA | eBay

Or get the alloy ones: 4Pcs Wheel Hub Centric Rings Spacer 66.6mm OD to 57.1mm ID Aluminium Alloy | eBay

These were just the first 2 that came up but just search for hub ring and 57.1mm to 66.6mm and you'll get a ton of options. There people that stock these in Australia for $20-25 but sometimes the shipping from China isn't much slower...

No idea, I've just read about it in my wheel travels.

I'd stick to metal, only because I have heard that the heat build-up has been known to cause issues with plastic on certain cars/fitments.

Anyway, back to my wheel sale.

Update PMed, but just noting for all - these are wheels only, no rubber.
