Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Technical trainer or training writer (freelance or salary)

    Hi all,
The company I work for is a major player in the supply of technical information and training in Australia. We present training lectures to the mechanical trade for around 7000 people per year (private workshop owners and mechanics, and also dealer and TAFE staff) on all technical topics in about 100 locations around the country. We produce technical training courses for just about every vehicle system and component on a modern vehicle.

I'm looking for a technical expert to join our team as a training material writer. You may also choose to deliver training if you so choose. I need someone that understands the difference between simply regurgitating facts from a text book and someone who can turn information into an interesting learning experience and can make the information relate to everyday workshop diagnosis and repair.

Scan tools, test equipment and any workshop manuals required for the job are supplied.

A trade qualified person that understands automotive electrical and mechanical fundamentals is essential, and some training writing experience will give you an advantage for this role.

This is a very well-known Australian company with significant trade discounts and benefits awarded to staff.
Preferably Sydney based, but will consider interstate applicants.

Let me know if you are interested, or if you know someone who might be.
