Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW MY10 Passat R36 wagon in Biscay Blue

    Hello all.
I am going to replace my beloved R36 with a Golf R Wagon in the next few months. (Delivery willing - I may have a fair wait ahead). BTW anyone know of a MY18 Wolfsburg wagon available? - dealers welcome)
I bought the car new in February 2010. It is a MY10 car.

    The good points:
Only 140000 km, mostly highway (Really - I build race engines and I use the R36 for deliveries and for attending race meetings)
Factory towbar with the correct VW trailer plug harness
New front tyres and front brake discs/pads about 5000km ago
    5 months NSW rego
    Drip tray in boot
Nice rear bumper protector - better than VWs effort
    Never crashed
Full service history with dealers or very reputable service centres. No expense spared and always genuine parts and synthetic oil

    Not good points
Usual driver's bolster sagging and scuffing of leather
Bird poo damage to clear coat on bonnet
    Some wheel kerbing
Front end stone chips (Highway use)
    Scuffing under front bumper

    Asking $25500 but am realistic
    Car is in Queanbeyan NSW

I have found a car to buy.
    Revised price = $18000 ONO
