  • QLD FS: Audi A3 8L 1.8T 2002 - QLD

    For Sale: Audi A3 8L 1.8T

    Price $3500

    Background Information

Hi All, I have decided to list my A3 up for sale as I now have a work van and it's sitting there taking up space. I am the third owner and have had the car for 1.5 years now. The car came to me with all the modifications done and throughout my ownership I have only replaced parts that have needed replenishing from age (coolant pipes mainly). The car would be best suited to someone who is looking to get into a powerful little hatch and has the ability to put some TLC into the car. Below are some issues that need addressing and I want to make these clear so there is no confusion if someone is interested in buying. The car will be sold AS IS, QLD registration is valid until 6th February 2016. No reason why it would not pass a RWC - so buyer should be able to tidy that up quickly. RWC in Queensland costs $74.75. I also have a heap of parts that will be sold with the car.

    Negatives about the car
    - Mechanically
    - Needs a service - The car has been driven once in a blue moon and I'm sure would need a service to freshen things up.
    - Cold starts are not great; it does start first go however it struggles for about 2 seconds and then it kicks in.
    - Initial minute of driving gives a belt squeak, once it warms up and has more friction it runs nice and quiet.
    - Air conditioning and radiator fans are not working - i've replaced the Fan Control Module, checked all fuses and replaced the pressure switch. My feeling is its either the fan switch on the radiator support or a bad ground or short in the wiring. I did run a fan test and the results looked like being a wiring problem as opposed to other components. The A/C compressor sounds like it engages however i'm not going to say I have the solution for the problem as I'm not a auto electrician.

    - Cosmetically
    - Drivers seat needs a stitch on the outer side.
    - Paint is in OK condition.
    - Scratch marks from previous owner, see photos.
    - On heavy rain days, water gets into the drivers footwell.
    - Headlights could do with a restoration.
