Not to much interest in this my car, the few that have looked at it agree it's the best example they have looked at but were only willing to spend around 20k. Obvious answer but am I asking to much?

Redbook lists the private sale price range for an MY11 RS at $16,800-$19,100:
Used Car Research - Used Car Prices - Compare Cars - RedBook.com.au

Options are nice but generally don't contribute to the selling price of a second-hand car, but they are more likely to attract potential buyers. The tune certainly won't increase the price, but may put off anyone who's not looking for a modified car.

Just do a search on carsales for Gen2 RS and yours is right at the top end of the price range. Plus if people buy yours they will also be up for all the govt charges which the dealers are including. Generally you'll have to undercut the dealer pricing by a couple of grand to make it worthwhile people buying your car than the dealers. Also yours comes with no warranty (guessing that the Skoda warranty has expired) vs. statutory warranty from the dealer.

If you want to move your car you really have to be at the sharp end of the category (say 40,000 to 80,000km cars). Also if you've had the 60,000km service done then advertise this fact as it's a reasonable cost. I know you do say recently serviced + new tyres but if it's only a minor service and missed major things like DSG oil change then this will put people off.

It looks like a really nice car and if you price it right it will definitely sell. I'm with Adam I think it needs to be a lot closer to $20k for people to look at buying it (and possibly a shade under).

Something like this one is what you're competing with: 2010 Skoda Octavia RS 147TSI Auto MY11

Yeah sorry to take your for sale thread off topic... but you did ask the question

It depends on how quickly you want to move your car and how much you're (potentially) getting offered as a trade-in. This might give you a bit of a reality check also. If you can make $2k more than what you're getting offered as a trade-in then you're $2k ahead.

The fact there has not been a lot of phone calls indicate either lack of interest in Octavia RS's or the price is outside the going range. Was only offered about $10k trade in on a new Kia Sorento. They were going to wholesale it on. Not in any great hurry to sell, just trying to keep it presentable in the garage.

Try another Kia dealer for a better deal? There are plenty around.

I'm not sure how much Sorento's are but we've owned quite a few 7 seaters in both SUV & people mover style & the SUVs are a bit useless (ranging from "why did they bother" to "they've almost got this right".

Have a look at the latest Honda - it's pretty good & the prices are keen. V6 Tarago is fantastic but probably a bit expensive. Avensis Verso was great when we had them (had 2) but is probably outdated now.

If they offered you $10k then I doubt your car is worth 2x wholesale. More like 1.5-1.8 x. It's 4 years old now so it wouldn't be unexpected to drop 50% off what you paid for it.

Thanks Brad, already purchased the new Sorento, not sure if you have looked at the new model but nothing comes close to value for money, and I can not find any indication of cost saving unlike the Skoda, it's very well put together and if it wasn't for the badge you would think you were in a euro costing 10+k more, no joke. And 7 year warranty just adds to the package. To get similar in the Toyota Kluger you would have to get the Grande for more than $70K. The Octavia was more than $50k so massive deprecation.
