Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Mk3 VR6 Automatic 102,619 kms Purple but needs paint job

Heater core went about 4 years ago and instead of fixing it the car has sat in the sun..... Thus clear coat is non existent and most things you would expect the sun to have attacked have been attacked.

I purchased the car from an elderly chap with 62k km's on it.

Has 215/40/17's on it at present, Comes with 2 of the original wheels. Because of age sitting I would not trust tires.

Comes with a key that opens the doors and will operate the ignition barrel however it does not have the genuine immobiliser chip in it thus will not start car. Key that will operate car went missing about a year ago sadly and I have spent a considerable time looking for it but have had no luck locating,

Looking for EOI's i understand the car is cosmetically in poor shape but its also got seriously low km's.

Any questions please dont hesitate, sorry photos were taken in the dark, None of the panels have dents etc.

    Located 20km's North of Brisbane

MK3 odometers go from 299,999 and reset to 0, so yours has done at least 400k.

            8v Ibiza GTI > 8v mk2 Golf GTI > mk3 VR6 > 8v Ibiza GTI > 2D CL+vr6...

To be fair, the OP car still has the word 'total' there, which signifies that the ODO itself hasn't been around the clock.

Was the car really parked up just because of the heatercore? You can bypass it by joining the existing hoses.
