Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACT FS or Swap - 2002 Porsche Boxster S for Mk5 Platform Car

I wouldn't normally post this on VWW but I've got a couple of car needs at the moment so thought I'd try my luck.

I'm currently selling my track toy - a 2002 Porsche Boxster S. It's a street registered car that's been setup for motorkhanas, club sprints etc - a very capable, low maintenance track car or put the exhaust back to stock and enjoy on the street. It's up on CarSales (2002 Porsche Boxster 986 S MY02) for $24,600.

On the other hand, I'm looking to pick up an interesting Mk5 platform car for work. I'm not settled on a particular car at the moment - Golf R32, GTI, Pirelli, Eos, Jetta are all in the mix - but we've already got a Mk5 TDI Golf so we're not looking for something at the bottom end of the specs. Manual is preferred but paddle shift DSG is OK too. Cosmetic condition inside and out is not too important, but mechanically and electrically everything needs to be working.

If anyone is looking to move a Mk5 platform car and you're interested in a swap (with cash adjustment either way as appropriate) for a 2002 Boxster S, drop me a PM and let's chat.

What a perfect package James. All the best with the sale.

You most certainly will not regret choosing the Mk5 R32

      Thanks Robbie!

I've got my eye on this R32 on CarSales - http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Volkswagen-Golf-2006/SSE-AD-3278308 - if I move the Boxster before it sells then it'll be top of my list.

I will ask around if anyone is interested in a Boxster S.

That MKV R32 above is immaculate and was posted up by one of the members on the "Australian R32 VW Owners Group" on Facebook.

          Thanks mate.

That R32 looks great - with Recaros and being a 3 door it'd have to be almost the perfect spec.

Assume you have landed the aforementioned car James?

Sadly not - it was sold before I could get down to see it.
