Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    2000 VW Golf MK4 SE 24V VR6 2.8L converted.

    24V VR6 AUE non-vvt
V5 02J FBK 5 speed gearbox which has recently been rebuilt with ARP bolts. Also has a new clutch which is still wearing in (gripping at the present moment)
Has a 2.5" catback, not too loud, not too quite
    114FWKW

    17' oettinger re0 (rashed)
    Standard suspension
    Poly rear beam bushings
    Poly control arm bushings
    Half poly dog bone bushings
    H&R 26mm FSB
Have a strut bar which is not fitted, ready to be bolted in.

312mm front brakes slotted and drilled
standard mk4 1.6/2.0 rear brakes with slotted and drilled disks
    Braided hella lines.

Car has been resprayed to a custom colour (colour code will be provided).
Rear bumper needs replacing (scratched and melted), rear valance needs replacing too (I have a spare standard one in the shed which will be provided)
Front bumper has a few stone chips
Right side doors have been egged and needs filling/repaiting
Bonnet and front bumper has been filled to allow for badgeless grill
Hatch has had the badge removed and filled
Passenger side headlight is missing 3 clips.

Bora interior (woodgrain) with heated seats (both paired to same control on the dash)
Unfinished sound system (needs to be fibreglassed & trimmed)
CarPC for multimedia control and audio processing (via virtual audio cable, centrafuse and audiomulch).

    Optima d31a battery and
2x amps in the spare wheel well

It's drivable and running fine provided I keep checking the power steering fluid - I drive it every day.
To be sold with no reg/roadworthy. Receipts will be provided for car and engine.
You can get a MK4 registered with this combo due to the US having a MK4 VR6 GTI (FWD) in both 12v and 24v
You do not need an engineers certificate (VIC/NSW, have no researched other states)

    RWC items:
Power steering rack is leaking near full lock, requires replacement.
Drivers side sill panel has bent in towards the front, needs to be hammered out
    Needs tyres
    Needs passenger side guard liner
Needs standard intake/airbox/pcv fitted (flex pipe and PCV provided, airbox not provided)
Charcoal canister needs to be fitted (provided)

    Other notable things:
ABS/ESP do not work, needs sensors which do not exist for FWD (ECU and ABS were from a 4motion Bora)
    A/C requires regassing.
    Chains requires doing soon.
The V5 radiator I had in it leaked, so that got replaced but to a thinner radiator. Stays at temp if its 20-25 degrees but if it's warmer and you're stopped it will get hot. You can get an 41mm MK4 alloy radiator from US for ~$260 AUD shipped. Or use a 1.8T/V5/4motion standard radiator.
    No SAI
ABS/ESP do not work, needs sensors which do not exist for FWD (ECU and ABS were from a 4motion Bora)
