Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    EO LV XR5 Turbo
    82,000kms
    $23,990

    Call Tim on o401 180 47two.

Stage 3+ Electric Orange XR5 Turbo for sale - time to pass on this weekender to a new owner.

This is MY2010 ('09 build) EO Ford Focus XR5 Turbo, which I purchased stock with the intention of creating the ultimate daily driver. A few months after buying the car, I changed jobs and ever since the XR5 has been doing weekend duties only.

The goal of this car was to make it comfortable for driving on Brisbane roads, with enough power to enjoy the drive and all the modern conveniences you could need. I have spent a reasonable amount upgrading the car over the past few years, including:

    - Brakes $950
    - Wheels $1500
    - Exhaust $1300
    - Intake and intercooler $600
    - Tyres $1000
    - Clutch/flywheel $1800 (intalled)
    - Sway bar/torque mount $350
    - Tune $450
    Total: $7,950

    A few highlights:

    - Electric Orange paint chosen as this is the star colour of the XR5
    - Heated black leather Recaro's - amazing seats in great condition
    - Sparco Pro Corsa 18x8" wheels - stock size, just a better pattern and colour
    - Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres 235/40/18 - not cheap at $1000 a set, however they are hands down the best tyre I have owned
    - Brakes upgraded to DBA 4000 rotors, Remsa pads, Stainless steel braided brake lines to handle the extra power
    - Whiteline rear sway bar - reduces body roll on corners, without making the ride any harsher
    - Elevate transmission mount - improves gear changes and trans feel
    - Mongoose 3" Turbo back exhaust with 100 cell catalytic converter - incredible sound and performance from this exhaust
    - Motorcade cold air intake with K&N filter - required to run a better tune
    - Airtec Gen3 intercooler (black) - larger than stock to ensure no heat soak on hot summer days
    - OEM Ford Focus RS clutch and flywheel - better performing clutch to handle increased torque
    - Bluefin Stage 3+ tune - a great everyday tune which I am more than happy with - power now ~300hp
    - Updated air-con knobs - they look great!
    - Updated mist spray windscreen washer jets - much better coverage than standard
    - OEM Ford Focus RS floor mats
    - OEM Ford Focus RS ecu mount
    - Redline Superlight gearbox oil - better performing oil on hot days
    - 35% tinted windows for the stealth look

I think that's the most recent list - all added within the last 10k kms, except for the brakes and tyres which have only been on for 5k kms.

The car has just recently been serviced at Newstead Metro Ford, where they gave it a clean bill of health. It won't require another service for 12 months, however I like to change the oil at the 6 month interval anyway.

This is a very honest sale, so please feel free to ask any and all questions. In terms of trades, I am looking for a BMW e30

Happy to negotiate on price following an inspection and test drive.

    Thanks,
    Tim
