Some info and pictures on the mods:
Garage door opener
First mod I did - just starting small! so much easier than having to search around for the remote. the switches are a bit expensive, but in the overall scheme of things...
- Purchased from carstyle4you
- DIY thread I used here

FIS+ Advanced
Originally started with a P3 gauge - never really liked the non-OEM display. The FIS+ certainly is OEM, and has an incredible development team behind it - new functions every month or so.
- Purchased direct from Tigger73 via groupbuy
- Manufacturer site Autopolar
- My DIY info
Set to show boost and other performance info

Video showing all the various functions and parameters
DSG Paddles
As many have said, a "must have" mod for DSG cars. Couldn't bring myself to pay lots of money - $40 on ebay was enough. they work well, end of story.
- Purchased from ebay

Front & Rear black emblems + euro plate holder delete
Wasn't really too fussed with this sort of thing when I first saw them - now I think that this sort of mod really looks good and is still subtle enough that most people don't "see" it. The whole euro plate holder thing is ridiculous - they shouldn't fit these to Aussie bound cars...
- Purchased from Bold-Sport
- DIY used to help with installation here

"R" Seat lever inserts
Pure indulgence. This is what happens on web sites when you have bought what you want (black front and back emblems), and then see the "People who bought this item also bought:" ... sold.
- Purchased from Bold-Sport

Tarmac / Volant Intake
Next performance mod. Very pleased with this update. Selected because of great feedback on the forum, and highly professional support from Ben. Not too loud in normal / sedate driving - excellent whooshing sound when under power, so just what I wanted.
- Purchased from Tarmac Engineering (Ben)
- Good DIY info here

Podi Boost Gauge
Yep, between the Podi and the FIS+ I think I am covered for instrumentation! Podi gauge is a very impressive bit of kit. The remote control allows you to change between red or white backgrounds, adjust the peak boost warning (flashes red), adjust the brightness, and recall the peak boost (and reset it). Good stuff.
- Purchased from Podi
- very useful DIY install thread

Start up video:
R8 coil packs / PFR7B plugs
Pre-empting issues with coil packs and a stronger spark?
(and some advertising for Ben @ Tarmac Engineering!)

42DD Down Pipe (street version with cat, resonated)
After some great recommendations from others, have gone for the 42DD DP. Very shiny!
- mated with the stock CBE for power, but not too much extra noise
- supplied through Greg at carformance
- fitted by the lads at Canberra VW Centre

Stage 2 dyno plots
- Just for reference...
- Done on a Dyno Dynamics at Autotech Canberra
- more here

Tarmac Engine cover
- goes well with the Tarmac / Volant intake
- wanted a reasonably OEM look

Soundakator on/off "R" button
- not sure everyone will agree with wanting to be able to have the soundakator "on", but an interesting mod anyway
- every now and again it's fun to have a different sound - the "R" switch makes it easy
