Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW FS - 2002 Audi A3 turbo

    FS - Audi A3 2002 1.8t

I’ve owned this car for the past 9years and it’s been fantastic - I would keep it but I’ve finally found a replacement. I’ve always taken great care of it and gone the OEM+ route with genuine VW/Audi parts.

    Engine:
    206,xxx kms
AUM engine type drive by wire KO3s
    GIAC flashed
    High flow exhaust manifold
3” dump pipe + middle resonator removed. (Quiet)
    N75J from Audi TT
    Upgraded turbo intake pipe
    Upgraded intercooler piping
    Dual port BOV.
    Dogbone engine mount.
Engine is in great condition, drives extremely well.

    Suspension:
H&R Cup kit (Springs + shocks, slightly lowered) - Will come with originals
Whiteline Front + Rear sway bars
    Neuspeed front strut brace
    Poly bushes all around

Wheels + Brakes (Genuine VAG) - Will come with original brakes and wheels with tyres.
    Front : R32 334mm discs, R32 callipers, R32 brakelines.
Rear : R32 ventilated 256mm discs, R32 callipers (F+R Calipers rebuilt before installation)
18” Audi TT (V6) wheels - Fairly well scuffed.

    Interior:
Black leather interior - Great condition except stitching on one seat needs repair - Will be repaired prior to sale.
    S3 centre console (Piano black)
S3 ‘Concert’ stereo (Bit nicer than the standard A3)
    Factory subwoofer
Xcarlink iPod + Aux input + BT phone/Audio with mic. (Factory boot mounted CD changer still works)
    Small boost gauge

    Exterior:
S3 rear bar (Albeit scratched) - Exhaust tips to match bar.
    Sideskirts colour coded
Vertex front bar (Damaged, recommend respray)

This car has always been meticulously maintained.

Work done in the last 12 months:
    Replacement/rebuilt gearbox (Wasn’t necessary - Long story)
    New clutch + VR6 flywheel

Work done in the last ~6 months:
    New A/C compressor + regas
Major service - Timing belt + Water pump etc
    Rear wheel bearing
    2 minor services

Rego until July - I think 27th. IIRC P plate exemption for the A3 turbo is available in NSW.

    $7.5k Negotiable

*Bump* - I'm now very keen to sell this car, my new car should arrive within 2 weeks.

$5400. Which is slightly more than what the dealer has offered me as a trade and an epic deal for this car.

Ah I have been waiting to get a firm date on my new car before advertising it seriously.

I've just got that so i'm about to put it on Carsales - I think there it should get some interest.

              Mate,

this thing won't last long on carsales.

GL with the sale. If i had a spare 5k i would take it off you as a daily.

Cool - It's just been submitted to carsales.

Let's see what happens now - Although I'd much rather sell it to someone on here who can appreciate it!

Just a short flight and an enjoyable drive away from being in your driveway.

it's just with the flight/fuel/Qld RWC/rego transfer/rego itself and then stamp duty; it all adds up

indeed. it's a pain but still a bargain at the price it is.
