Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA 1989 Mk2 Jetta

Hi I have decided to sell my MK2 Jetta. Its a 1989 1.8l carb, goes fairly well but would need the carb tuned. The car is in extremely good shape for its age with minimal rust and lacquer peeled in places. It is lowered on adjustable coilovers with 14" widened steel wheels, 8" on the rear and 7" on the front, brand new stretch tyres driven on once to the Vw show Perth, original 14" standard steels with good tyres will also go with the car. The car has small bumpers but has the plastic arch flares. I changed the heater matrix in it a few months back as the heat wasn't working. I am pretty reluctant to sell this car but if I get a good price I will part with it..Im after around 4k for it, pm me if your interested..Cheers..

It looks better with its original rims but these pics bring back memories of living in the USA and South Africa where there were literally millions of MK2 Jettas.
My first VW was a brand new 1988 1.8 CLX,it was a brilliant car and I did over 300 000 kilometres in it.

They don't make them as well as that these days...
