Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC 1995 Golf VR6

1995 Golf VR6. Very regretful sale, has been my pride and joy.

Car has done around 260,000km despite having 208,000km on the odo. This is due to a faulty odo (still have the original). The engine itself has done less than 30,000km since being fully rebuilt at Audvolks with papers to prove (over $4k if I recall correctly).

The car contains a lot of OEM+ and particularly rare parts including:
    - US centre console
    - Half wood steering wheel (Very very rare!)
    - MK3.5 US spec sun visors with build in lights
    - Black Colour Concept grab handles and light switch
    - Hella celis projector headlights
    - Rear VR6 heckblende
    - 17x8 MAM MT1 wheels
    - JOM Coilovers
    - Shark fin antenna
    - Re-trimmed front seats

I can include black Colour Concept A, B, C pillars and a genuine wooden Highline shift knob at an additional cost but they're currently with my sister in the UK.

    - The front rotors have just been replaced with brand new Brembos along with Ferodo Premier brake pads.
    - Rear rotors, bearings and pads were replaced about a year ago with plenty of life left in them.
    - Front outer CVs have both been replaced along with the front left side wheel bearing.
    - Changed transmission oil last week, goes into all gears extremely smoothly, goes into 1st at slow speed every time.
    - Has an after market exhaust of unknown brand (sounds great!)
    - Head unit has been replaced with a stock looking Kia unit (aux, hands free, iPhone compatible)
    - Car is wired up for an amp but no amp will be provided.
    - Heater works great but air con isn't cold. Fans and compressor still seem to turn on so perhaps it just needs re-gassing?
    - Seats are in good condition with a re-trim done by a fellow watercooled member. Rear seats might be able to be re-trimmed to match before selling.
    - Headliner has been redone in dark grey.

Current issues with the car include the following:
    - ABS module has issues, the light in the dash has been piggy backed to the airbag light to pass roady. I can look into removing and re-soldering the unit before selling.
    - Car has the usual wear for it's age.
    - Minor surface rust in drivers door well.
    - Rear right window regulator doesn't work, but I have a brand new one coming.
    - Right rack end needs replacing with the part also coming in.
    - Tyres have camber/wall wear.
    - Windscreen has wiper scratches.
    - Fuel gauge sits one bar below it's actual level.

Inspections and Test drives welcome. You can contact me on 0433226516.

    Asking SOLD!

    Cheers,
    Rod
