Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey guys selling the Vento

on the weekend something went in the gearbox and don't have the money or time to fix it. Know someone with a V5 gearbox that will bolt straight to it tho.

car is a 1996 vento originally a 2.0l manual before i swapped in the vr. was currently in the process of getting the engine swapped over at the rta so can finish that off for the buyer also. car has the usual scuff and buff marks on it. front bumper isnt the best was in the process of trying to find a clean smooth top vento one or even running a golf one. has vr6 seats in the front and just vento ones in the back. can get vr seats for the rear if you want them. at the moment sitting in D90's and just running ebay coil overs.

Replaced alot of parts when i did the swap.
    - new tie rods
    - water pump
    - control arm bushes in one right control arm
    - brand new control arm on the left
    - new clutch
    - new clutch slave cylinder
    - new sterring rack boots
    - Various gaskets were replaces. i.e sump gasket, etc
    - new EBC red stuff pads all round
    - stainless steel brake lines on the front
    - new water pump pulley
    - flywheel resurfaced
    - brand new rotors all round
    - new spark plugs and leads
    - new coolant temp sensor
    - hall sender ( cam angle sensor
    - New timing chains replaced about 8000 km's ago by pete at canberra VW centre in kiama
    - 0.5 stage engine mounts all round

Things that haven't been fitted yet but come with the car:
    - heavy duty upper strut mounts
    - rpm reference sensor
    - new expansion tank

have various spares that also come with the car
    - OBD1 front fenders (square blinker type)x2
    - golf bonnet
    - Thule roof racks and fairing
    - D90's with about 30% tread
    - stock VR6 wheels 99% tread, only covered about 3000 kms
    - 2nd set of vento headlights with 1 broken tab ( could be used for joey mods )
    - one OBD1 grill in burgundy
    - brand new OBD2 grill sitting in its bag in my room currently white
    - 2 sets of front blinkers, orange set currently on the car and clear set which used to be on there.
    - set of bilstien Yellow shocks for the front and rear. ( if you wanted to go away from the coilovers. with a good set of lowering springs would look awesome and ride really well on these )

there is probably alot more which i have forgotten to had but if you want any other info please message me

don't know how much i want, or how much i can get, seeing what everyone else has there's up for asking about $3000 and the price is negotiable. if you would like any other information don't hesitate to ask.

This makes me sad. You should ask for donations to fix it instead of selling it. It has so much potential!
