After nearly 7 years of faithful service as my track-day and motorsport car, I've decided to go down a completely different path for my track thrills and put my Polo up for sale.

Note: If you're looking for an immaculately presented daily driver please don't worry about reading the rest of the text below, as this car certainly doesn't fit in that category. If you're looking for a track car or willing to do some work to get back to street trim then read on...
Note also: Because this is Watercooled, I anticipate being asked if I will part out the good bits on the car. The short answer is yes - if I get interest in enough of the parts to justify chopping up a perfectly good car. See the list at the end of this post and send me a PM if you're interested in anything in particular so I can start a running tally.
My Polo GTI is an April 2007 model, which I bought ex-Demo in late 2007.
The Polo is set up as a track day car, with a list of mods to suit that purpose:
•K04 Turbo
•APR Front Mount Intercooler
•Custom built 3" turbo-back exhaust
•Bilstein PSS-9 adjustable coilovers
•Brembo 323mm front rotors & track spec Ferodo pads
•LSD (will confirm exact model)
•Lightened flywheel, upgraded clutch, strengthened gearbox (especially 1-2 linkage which was prone to crunching in these cars)
•Whiteline rear sway bar
•APR Stage 3 software
Performance
The Polo hasn't been on a dyno in current trim, but should be making just shy of 200kW at the flywheel. Last recorded 0-100kph time was 6.1 sec, ran the standing 1000m at Cooma last month in 26.3 sec @ 196.6kph. Fastest time around Wakefield Park is 1:09.8 (non-Natsoft), 1:10.94 (Natsoft 26/8/11).
If you're unsure about the way the Polo goes, turns or stops I'm happy to meet a serious buyer (with deposit down) at a Wakefield Park Speed Off The Streets day for a proper test drive.
Exterior
The base colour is metallic black though it spent most of its life vinyl wrapped yellow and is currently plasti-dipped green (which will come off pre-sale). The base paintwork is in pretty good condition having been protected from the sun for most of its life, but there are a few dings, scratches and marks on the body work. The worst of them is the roof which has a dent and scratches from where the radio antenna argued with a garage door. There is a stain on the passenger's side headlight caused by calcium (water dripping through a leaking underground garage which damaged the plastic) and there are cracks below the headlight in the front bumper from a kangaroo impact. I'm happy to take photos of the affected areas if required.
Interior
A large majority of the interior trim has been removed from the car and has been in storage for some time. The car still has the full dashboard (glovebox height up), door trims including power mirrors and standard seats. *Most* of the interior trim, including the rear seats and seat belts, will be sold with the car though some small trim pieces and probably a heap of fixing screws are not included as they've been previously parted out. The roof liner is the largest piece that is not included with the car. All airbags including side and rear bags are fully functional.
I'll grab some photos of the interior tomorrow and upload.
Wheels & Tyres
The car is currently fitted with 17" OZ Ultraleggeras in black, and the sale includes 2 full sets of Audi TT 17" wheels (original 5 spoke). The OZ wheels are fitted with street rubber (Yokohamas if I recall correctly - to be confirmed) with wheels in unmarked condition. 1 set of TT wheels is painted black and fitted with R-specs (Toyo R888 205/40ZR17); the other painted red and fitted with full slicks (Kumho V710 215/40ZR17 - 4 heat cycles). The paint on both sets of wheels is chipped and cracked - the full slicks actually got so hot on the track they caused the paint to slide off the wheel in some places. There's also a spare set of 4 street tyres (Yokohama S-Drive 215/40ZR17) currently not fitted to any rims, and 1 single 16" Detroit OEM wheel as an unused spare.
OEM Parts & Spares
Included with the sale will be the OEM K03 turbo, side-mount intercooler and associated components. I *think* I still have the original suspension but need to confirm. Most of the interior trim, some spare exterior trim including front foglight surround and an as yet unpainted & unfitted Polo GTI Cup rear spoiler. Some other miscellaneous spares such as coil packs.
Mechanical & Rego
Mechanically the car is in great condition - it has only done around 55,000kms and is regularly serviced given the work it does. The car was most recently serviced in October 2013.
The car is currently road registered in the ACT, but does not come with a road-worthy certificate as annual inspections are not required in the ACT. For the trainspotters in the photos the current rego is YJK10H but this will be transferred to standard ACT plates before sale. If you wish to register the car in another state the only real stumbling block should be the rear seats - you'll either need to refit the rear seats and seatbelts, or have the car engineered as a 2-seater. If you plan on registering the car please check with your state authorities first to make sure you know what you need to do to pass a rego inspection.
Price
I'm after $12,500 for the car, as-is, with all the spares including the 3 sets of rims / 4 sets of tyres. Offers welcome but if it's not 5 figures please don't be offended when I decline.
If people are interested in parts instead, including the sets of wheels, send me a PM with what you're after and if we can agree on a price I'll keep a list below of what's been taken. I won't part out the car until I've got sufficent interest to justify taking apart the car rather than selling it as-is, so please keep that in mind.
