Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACT WTB: Bora V6 4Motion (Damaged / Wrecking / Cheap)

As per the thread title, I'm looking for a Bora V6 4Motion in less than perfect condition for an upcoming project.

The engine, gearbox, haldex and all driveline components all need to be in good condition. High kms are OK as long as there's a good service history along the way.

I don't care about the cosmetics, so panel damage, torn interiors, minor mechanicals that don't work properly (windows / doors / AC and so on) and other general disrepair are perfectly OK. Repairable and stat write-offs are also OK if anyone knows of a 4Motion being wrecked, though I'd probably prefer a car that is at least drivable.

I'm willing to spend no more than $5000 on a car with rego, obviously less if it's seriously damaged, written off or otherwise un-registerable.

I know there are a few nice 4Motions for sale on the forum but all are in far better condition than I'm looking for and I won't insult anyone with a lowball offer for a nice car. That said, if anyone selling their Bora is willing to take $5K cash for a quick sale please drop me a PM.

Hey mate, IDK if you're familiar with Pickles auctions, theres a few Bora's on there atm, not sure about models, but I'm pretty certain you could pick one up within your price range from there quite easily.

    good luck

Thanks guys - I have checked out Pickles salvage but there's currently no 4Motions in their stock.

Sapper - thanks for the PM - reply sent.
