  • NSW 1995 Golf Mk3 for sale

    Golf Mk 3 1995 5 dr Dark green 5spd man
    The good
    Strong engine, doesn’t blow smoke, doesn’t run hot . No leaks.
    246xxx on clock
    Fitted with gearbox from a Mk 3 diesel.
    Interior complete no rips or tears. Rear cover doesn’t have holes in it.
    Both front windows operate.
    Fitted with a Magnaflow twin square tip rear muffler, suitcase deleted.
    Fitted with original wheels but I have another set of Auscar 5 star mags with decent rubber
    Has a current pink slip.
    The Bad
    Clutch won’t disengage whilst engine running but will change gear smoothly if engine off
    Rear windows don’t operate
    The ugly
    Clear coat peeling on front panels.
    Some rust above windscreen
    Has a dark blue bonnet (but I still have the original green one)
    Some battle damage to body sustained during missions inside Western Sydney

    Can you confirm if the gearbox is cable shift or rod shift please?

      From what I remember, it's using the original rod setup with the brackets/links on top of the box swapped over from the old gearbox to the diesel gearbox.

      Also this box seems to have shorter ratios than the petrol one so the car feels a bit zippier than standard. I thought it was much better to drive.

        If its rod shift, its not a TDI box but perhaps just a mk3 diesel (non-tdi) box which is still 020.

        The TDI's came with the 02A box and that swap would make your car worth more money than you are asking - just to help clarify.
